Midday Meet & Mingle: The History of A Christmas Carol

Event Type: Adult
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 12/10/2018
Start Time: 11:30 AM
End Time: 1:00 PM
Description:
In 1843, Charles Dickens introduced the world to some of the most famous characters in literature: Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim, and the three ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. "A Christmas Carol" was not only a literary success that went on to become an instant classic, but it also went on to directly influence and shape the celebration of Christmas, itself. Join us in a book discussion led by Christopher Proctor as we delve into the story, symbolism, context, and influences of Dickens' well-beloved novel. You are not required to read the book, but having read or watched some version of the book or movie is helpful.

Christopher Proctor is an academic librarian and faculty member at Indiana University Southeast Library. No registration is required, and refreshments will be served.
