"Know Your News" with WFPL's KyCIR

Event Type: Adult
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 5/22/2018
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Description:
The Library wants to empower members of our community to make informed decisions about what news sources to trust. WFPL's Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting joins us for a "Know Your News" workshop on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium. This workshop is free and open to ALL our shared community members, in Indiana and Kentucky – you do not need to have a library card with the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library to attend.

Journalists from the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting will discuss “fake news,” what it means, and how to be confident in what you read and share with others. You will leave the “Know Your News” workshop with the necessary tools to become a more informed news consumer – and better able to decide for yourself which sources to trust. The workshop includes plenty of time for audience questions at the end.
